1. Overview

aiboxplot ("we", "our", "the site") is a free online statistics tool that lets you create box plots, violin plots, histograms, scatter plots, pie charts, stem-and-leaf plots, Q-Q plots, and outlier analyses. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have — including how third-party advertising partners such as Google use cookies on this site.

2. Data You Enter Into the Tools

Your chart data never leaves your browser. All statistical computation (quartiles, medians, IQR, kernel density estimation, regression, outlier detection) and all chart rendering are performed entirely on your device, in your browser, using client-side JavaScript. We do not transmit, store, log, or have access to the numbers you paste into the chart tools. There are no accounts and no sign-up, so we hold no user profiles of any kind.

3. AI Analysis Feature

If you choose to use the optional AI Analysis / chat feature, the text you type into the chat — which may include the data currently on your chart if you ask the AI to analyze it — is sent from your browser to our serverless endpoint (/api/chat) and forwarded to a third-party large-language-model provider (currently DeepSeek, api.deepseek.com) solely to generate a response.

  • This happens only when you explicitly use the AI chat. Chart creation and export never contact any AI service.
  • We do not store conversation logs on our servers; requests are proxied and discarded.
  • Do not paste personal, confidential, or sensitive data into the AI chat. The AI provider processes that text under its own privacy policy.

4. Cookies and Third-Party Advertising

The core tools on this site do not set cookies. However, we use third-party advertising services — including Google AdSense — to keep the site free. The following disclosures apply:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices (or youronlinechoices.eu in the EU/UK).

For visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, we request consent for cookies and personalized ads through a consent management tool where required by law. Where consent is not given, only non-personalized ads (or no ads) are served.

5. Server Logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may automatically record standard technical information when you visit — such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested — for security, abuse prevention, and performance purposes. These logs are retained only as long as operationally necessary and are not used to build profiles.

6. What We Do NOT Collect

  • No accounts, names, email addresses, or passwords (there is no registration).
  • No precise geolocation data — the site never requests your location.
  • No data entered into the chart tools (see Section 2).
  • No sale or sharing of personal information with data brokers.

7. Children's Privacy

This site is an educational/statistical utility directed at a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
